Ofili spoke when the Chief Executive Officer of EDOHERMA, Dr. Adesuwa Urhoghide, paid him a courtesy visit at the Council’s headquarters in Abuja to strengthen collaboration on healthcare regulation, quality assurance and patient safety.

The MLSCN Registrar also praised Urhoghide’s passion, dedication and commitment to building EDOHERMA into a credible healthcare regulatory institution within a short period of its establishment.

“I wish we had more efficient, passionate and hardworking leaders across Nigeria’s health sector with the same commitment to driving positive change,” Ofili said.

He particularly applauded EDOHERMA for recognising and preserving the statutory mandate of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria by making valid MLSCN registration and licensing a mandatory requirement for the registration and regulation of medical laboratories operating in Edo State.

According to him, the policy demonstrates respect for the Council’s statutory responsibilities and reflects effective inter-agency collaboration built on partnership, synergy and mutual respect rather than duplication of functions.
