2027: Why Ukwa/Ngwa leaders stormed Benjamin Kalu’s residence over Eric Opah
Leaders and stakeholders from the Ukwa/Ngwa bloc have rallied behind the governorship candidacy of Dr. Eric Opah, leading a delegation to the Bende residence of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, to express appreciation for his support during the recently concluded APC governorship primaries.
The delegation visited Kalu’s residence to formally thank him for what they described as his support and goodwill towards Opah’s emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate.
The visit brought together members of the Ngwa Social Club, Lagos, alongside other prominent leaders and stakeholders from Ukwa/Ngwa.
The delegation was led by Elder Max Nduaguibe, who stressed the importance of unity, gratitude and collective commitment as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to the delegation, the visit was not only an expression of appreciation but also a demonstration of the growing political alignment around Opah’s candidacy within the Ukwa/Ngwa bloc.
The stakeholders further expressed their determination to work together and mobilise support as the political process progresses towards the 2027 elections.
The development signals renewed efforts by political stakeholders from Ukwa/Ngwa to consolidate their position and build a stronger political platform ahead of the next governorship contest in Abia State.
The visit to Kalu also highlights the continuing political engagements among APC leaders and stakeholders following the conclusion of the party’s governorship primary.
As political activities gradually gather momentum, the support of influential blocs and grassroots stakeholders is expected to play a significant role in shaping the APC’s strategy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
