Kebbi APC challenges ADC over Malami’s alleged 48 properties

The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Kebbi State has challenged the African Democratic Congress, ADC, to explain the source of properties allegedly linked to former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, before questioning the state government’s finances.

The APC acting chairman in the state, Adamu Mudi-Augie, made the statement on Friday while responding to allegations by the ADC over the management of Kebbi State’s finances since May 29, 2023.

Mudi-Augie said the ADC’s questions about the whereabouts of government funds were misplaced, arguing that projects executed by the Nasir Idris administration across the state showed how public resources had been utilised.

The APC chairman also referred to proceedings at the Federal High Court in Abuja involving properties allegedly linked to Malami, his family and associated companies.

He alleged that a July 2026 judgment ordered the final forfeiture of 48 properties belonging to Malami to the Federal Government, including hotels, schools, residential and commercial buildings and parcels of land in Abuja, Kebbi, Kano and Kaduna.

Mudi-Augie said the forfeiture proceedings followed action by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, adding that nine properties previously subject to interim orders were discharged while 48 remained subject to final forfeiture.

He questioned the ADC’s decision to scrutinise the Kebbi State Government’s finances while properties allegedly linked to one of its prominent figures had been the subject of forfeiture proceedings.
