Otti Calls for Unity Among Nsulu Labour Party Stakeholders Ahead of 2027

Abia State Governor, Dr Alex Otti, has called on stakeholders of the Labour Party (LP) in Nsulu to prioritise unity, inclusive leadership and collective action as the party prepares for the 2027 general elections.

Governor Otti made the call on Monday, at the Nsulu Labour Party Stakeholders Summit themed, “Sustaining the Transformation: A United Labour Party in Nsulu for 2027 and Beyond”, held at Umuonainta Women’s Hall Nbawsi, Isialangwa North LGA.

The Governor, represented by the National Vice Chairman of the Labour Party, South-East, Hon Ishmael Onuoha, noted that peace and unity remains essential for sustainable development.

He urged party stakeholders to remain actively involved in the affairs of the party, stressing the need for the leadership to align with the collective aspirations of the people and work together towards achieving the party’s objectives.

Governor Otti also called for inclusive participation in the party’s decision-making processes and urged members to respect genuine leaders of the party.

The Governor who assured that issues raised during the summit would be adequately addressed, described the summit as “the beginning of success”.

He encouraged the party stakeholders to sustain the spirit of unity beyond the meeting and work towards the overall success of the party in the coming election.

Also speaking, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Pastor Caleb Ajagba, described Nsulu as a community blessed with prominent and influential sons and daughters and expressed optimism that their collective efforts would strengthen the Labour Party in the area.

Pst Ajagba said the summit provided an opportunity for stakeholders to work together towards building a well-organised and formidable political structure in Nsulu to support Governor Otti’s second-term bid.

He stressed that every stakeholder had a role to play in the task ahead, saying the party would assemble its best team to drive the campaign as the 2027 elections approach.

The Chief of Staff disclosed that the Nsulu Stakeholders Forum would be inaugurated alongside various subcommittees to galvanise support for Governor Otti and other Labour Party candidates in the 2027 elections.

In his remarks, the Abia State Chairman of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Azubuike, urged Nsulu leaders to collaborate with their counterparts in other political blocs in Isiala Ngwa North to secure a landslide victory for Governor Otti and other Labour Party candidates in the 2027 elections.

Mr Azubuike called on the people to protect the progress recorded under the Otti administration, particularly projects such as the Smart School in Umuomaiukwu and the Abia International Airport, and remain focused on sustaining the transformation rather than allowing opposition Politics to distract them.

Also speaking, the Abia Arise State Chairman, Mazi Nkem Okoro, said the theme of the summit aptly captures the need for unity among Labour Party members in Nsulu.

Mazi Okoro said that the three blocs in Isiala Ngwa North must unite in pursuit of a common political objective.

In a presentation titled, “Labour Party Nsulu: The Challenges and Way Forward”, a stakeholder in Nsulu, Dr Chris Ugwumadu said the party could only secure victory in the 2027 elections by remaining united.

Ugwumadu, who stressed that “a house divided against itself cannot stand,” said the commitment of party members should be to deliver Governor Otti and all Labour Party candidates at the polls.

He therefore urged the stakeholders to work together and remain committed to the common goal of strengthening the Labour Party in Nsulu ahead of the 2027 elections.

In their separate goodwill messages, stakeholders of the Labour Party in Nsulu including Elder GOC Nnaji, Dr John Enyioko, the women leader, Umuomainta, Mrs Esther Mbuko, called on the people to unite behind the party and ensure an overwhelming victory for Governor Alex Otti and other Labour Party candidates in the 2027 elections.

The stakeholders urged the people of Nsulu to ensure that the Labour Party’s votes from the area are fully delivered, stressing that Nsulu should give the governor 100 per cent support at the polls.

They also highlighted the Otti led administration’s investment in Nsulu, particularly the ongoing development of the airport, which they described as one of the biggest investments in Abia State.

The stakeholders noted that the Chief of Staff to the Governor, who is a native of Nsulu, remains the leader of the Nsulu bloc, and called on the people to work collectively towards the re-election of Governor Otti and the success of all Labour Party candidates in 2027.
