The Labour Party says it has secured direct access to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal in readiness to upload the names of its candidates for the 2027 general elections.
A press statement issued over the weekend by the National Publicity Secretary, Barrister Ken Asogwa, indicated that the development is expected to put to rest concerns over the party’s participation in the upcoming elections, as access to the INEC nomination portal is a critical requirement for the formal recognition of candidates seeking elective offices.
Political observers note that the successful commencement of the upload process demonstrates the party’s commitment to meeting electoral deadlines and complying with INEC guidelines ahead of the polls.
The Labour Party expressed confidence in the ongoing exercise and reiterated its determination to present credible candidates for the governorship and House of Assembly elections.
