August 23, () — The Special Adviser on Security Matters to Sokoto State Governor Ahmed Aliyu, Col. Ahmed Usman (retd.), has appealed to political leaders, traditional institutions, religious leaders and residents to close ranks in the fight against banditry, insisting that insecurity should not be reduced to partisan Politics.

Usman made the appeal in a statement issued on Sunday while reacting to comments by some opposition politicians over the security situation in Sokoto State.

According to him, bandits do not distinguish between members of political parties before carrying out attacks, noting that their victims are ordinary citizens irrespective of political affiliation.

“Bandits have no political party. They do not ask whether their victims are APC, PDP or members of any other party before attacking them. Their victims are ordinary citizens”, Usman said.
