Yilwatda dedicates ‘Politician of the year award to Nigerians

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, who was recently honoured with the Politician of the Year Award by the Daily Times Newspaper as part of activities marking the newspaper’s 100th anniversary, has dedicated the honour to Nigerians.

In his acceptance remarks, Prof. Yilwatda described the award as a profound recognition that comes with greater responsibility.

He said receiving recognition from an institution that has documented and shaped a century of Nigeria’s history was both humbling and inspiring.

“This is not just an award; it is a profound recognition that comes with a greater responsibility,” he stated, adding, “To be acknowledged by an institution that has witnessed, documented and shaped a century of Nigeria’s history is both humbling and deeply inspiring.”

The APC Chairman said public service is ultimately measured not by titles or accolades, but by the positive difference leaders make in the lives of the people.

He dedicated the award to all Nigerians who believe in his journey and continue to encourage him to serve with courage, integrity and purpose.

“The recognition is appreciated; the responsibility is greater. The journey continues,” Prof. Yilwatda added.

The Daily Times, founded in 1926, is one of Nigeria’s oldest newspapers and it has played a major role in journalism, nation-building and public enlightenment over the past century.
