Abia State Governor Alex Otti has approved payment for the first phase of veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu’s medical bills after her public appeal for financial help.

The intervention was announced on Tuesday by the governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Martins Okey Justice.

The support comes after the 62-year-old actress revealed she needs ₦30 million for three life-saving surgeries.

While welcoming the governor’s intervention, Martins Justice said it covers only part of the required medical expenses.
July 29, () — Abia State Governor Alex Otti has approved payment for the first phase of veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu’s medical bills following her public appeal for financial assistance.
The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Martins Okey Justice, popularly known as J Martins, announced the intervention in a post on X on Tuesday.
“His Excellency @alexottiofr has just stepped in on the health issues of our Nollywood legendary actress Mrs. Ngozi Nwosu to approve the first part of her medical bills,” he wrote.
Justice said the governor’s support covers only part of the treatment costs and appealed to Nigerians to continue supporting the actress.
“While we sincerely appreciate His Excellency, we still appeal to kind-hearted Nigerians to please support her in any way possible you can. On behalf of the creative industry, we all thank you immensely, my leader,” he added.

The support comes days after the 62-year-old actress appealed for help, revealing she needs ₦30 million to undergo three life-saving surgeries.
Nwosu, who is from Abia State, is widely known for her long-running roles in Nollywood productions, including the popular television sitcom “Fuji House of Commotion,” and remains one of Nigeria’s most respected veteran actresses.
