Monarch Applauds Lightening Project Of Comrade Emmanuel Chibuike, Calls For More Interventions

 

 

The Traditional Ruler of Nkwoegwu Autonomous Community, Afugiri, in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State, Eze Chijioke Chikwekwem, has commended Comrade Chibuike Emmanuel for attracting a solar-powered street lighting project to the community, while calling on other sons and daughters of the community to emulate the gesture by investing in grassroots development.

Speaking with National Ambassador at his palace during a ceremony organized to honour Comrade Emmanuel, the monarch described the installation of 245 solar street lights across the community as a landmark achievement that has improved security, enhanced the environment, and brought renewed hope to residents.

According to Eze Chikwekwem, the lights have been strategically installed across the nooks and crannies of Umuekwule, transforming previously dark areas and making movement safer for residents.

“We gathered to appreciate our son who attracted 245 solar street lights to our community. Today, every part of Umuekwule is illuminated, and our people can now move freely at night”, the royal father said.

 

While applauding Comrade Emmanuel’s contribution, the monarch appealed to other indigenes and friends of the community to complement the development efforts by supporting education, women empowerment, and other social intervention programmes.

 

“Our community still has many developmental needs. Our children require scholarships to pursue their education, while our women need financial support to expand their farms and businesses. I urge every son, daughter, and friend of Umuekwule to come home and contribute to the growth of our community”, he added.

In his remarks, the President General of Umuekwule Autonomous Community, Mr. Ebo Chikwendu, described the honour as a well-deserved recognition of selfless service, noting that gratitude is a catalyst for greater achievements.

He said the solar lighting project would positively transform the community, improve social and economic activities, and strengthen security.

 

“Light symbolizes success, while gratitude is the roadmap to greater prosperity. Comrade Chibuike Emmanuel remembered his maternal home and has made a lasting impact. As a community, we are honouring him to encourage others to do likewise. Let us continue to promote love, unity, forgiveness, and celebrate one another’s successes”,  he said.

Also speaking, the Palace Secretary of Nkwoegwu Autonomous Community, High Chief C.C. Chukwu, and the Village Head, Royal High Chief Ekeoba Sydney Obinna, commended Comrade Emmanuel for his commitment to community development and prayed for God’s continued blessings upon him.

 

The women leaders of the community, led by the President General of Umuekwule Women, Mrs. Chisara Ahaba, alongside High Chief Mrs. Oluchi Nwosu, praised Comrade Emmanuel for addressing the insecurity previously associated with dark roads in the area.

 

According to them, the solar street lights have restored confidence among residents, especially women and children, who can now move freely at night without fear of robbery or attacks.

Responding, Comrade Chibuike Emmanuel expressed gratitude to the community for the honour, describing it as one of the greatest recognitions he has ever received.

 

He explained that the project was facilitated to improve security, ease movement at night, beautify the community, and enhance the quality of life of residents.

“This is one of the happiest days of my life. I have never received this level of recognition before, and I sincerely appreciate my people for this honour.

“I dedicate this award to the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, whose leadership has created opportunities for young people to contribute meaningfully to nation-building. I derive immense joy from impacting lives, and I remain committed to serving my people whenever the opportunity arises”,  he said.

Delivering the vote of thanks, the Governor of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Abia State Chapter, High Chief Ejeh Williams, said the project would usher in greater development and prosperity for Umuekwule.

 

He noted that light represents progress and success and commended Comrade Chibuike Emmanuel for attracting a people-oriented project that has brought lasting benefits to the community.

Special prayers were subsequently offered for Comrade Chibuike Emmanuel, after which the community presented him with several gifts and honours in recognition of his contributions.
