SKAD-F Demands Transparent Probe Into Mary Habila’s Death
The Southern Kaduna Academic Doctors’ Forum (SKAD-F) has called for a thorough, transparent, and impartial investigation into the death of Miss Mary Habila, urging authorities to ensure that justice is pursued without fear, favor, or prejudice.
In a statement released on Saturday, the forum expressed deep sorrow over the tragic death, describing it as a painful loss that has left family members, friends, and members of the wider community grieving.
SKAD-F extended its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength and comfort for those affected by the tragedy.
“The death of a young person under circumstances that have generated widespread public concern is a tragedy that deserves both compassion and careful attention,” the statement noted.
The forum observed that questions raised in the public domain regarding the circumstances surrounding Miss Habila’s death have heightened calls for clarity and accountability.
It emphasized that only a credible and professional investigation can establish the facts and restore public confidence.
According to the forum, the responsibility now rests with relevant law enforcement and investigative agencies to conduct a diligent inquiry that is transparent, evidence driven, and free from external influence.
SKAD-F stressed that the rule of law must remain paramount, insisting that no individual, regardless of social status, political influence, or position, should be placed above legal scrutiny.
At the same time, the forum cautioned against speculation and trial by public opinion, noting that conclusions should only be drawn based on verified facts and evidence.
“The integrity of our institutions is strengthened when investigations are conducted professionally and justice is seen to be done,” the statement said.
The forum further urged authorities to maintain openness throughout the investigative process and to communicate findings responsibly in order to preserve public trust.
Amid growing public interest in the case, SKAD-F appealed for calm and restraint, encouraging citizens to allow investigators to carry out their duties without interference while continuing to demand accountability from those entrusted with the administration of justice.
Observers say the forum’s intervention reflects increasing calls from civil society and professional groups for transparency and adherence to due process in matters involving public concern.
As the investigation unfolds, SKAD-F reaffirmed its commitment to justice, fairness, and the protection of the rule of law, expressing hope that the truth surrounding the incident will emerge through lawful and credible procedures.
The statement concluded with prayers for the deceased and a call for justice to prevail.
“May the soul of Miss Mary Habila rest in perfect peace, and may truth, justice, and fairness prevail.”
