Concerned Abia Youths Initiative Unveils Bende LGA Leadership, Endorses Alex Otti for 2027
The Bende Local Government Area chapter of the Concerned Abia Youths Initiative (CAYI) has formally unveiled its executive members and ward coordinators, signaling a new phase of youth-driven civic engagement and grassroots mobilization in the area.
The newly constituted leadership, carefully selected from across the wards and communities of Bende LGA, comprises individuals described as men of capacity, integrity, and proven character. The structure includes the Local Government Executive Committee and thirteen ward coordinators tasked with advancing the objectives of the organization at the grassroots level.
CAYI, a non-partisan and youth-focused organization, remains committed to promoting civic participation, accountability, community development, and youth empowerment across Abia State. The group has continued to position itself as a platform for encouraging active youth involvement in governance and public affairs.
The unveiling of the Bende chapter comes on the heels of the organization’s statewide inauguration, which featured a press conference where members officially adopted Governor Alex Chioma Otti as their consensus governorship candidate for the 2027 election.
According to the organization, the endorsement followed extensive consultations, independent assessments, and a thorough evaluation of developments across Abia State. The decision was reportedly influenced by what the group described as the governor’s performance, transformational leadership style, fiscal discipline, and the ongoing infrastructural and economic reforms witnessed across the state.
Speaking on the vision for the Bende chapter, the Local Government Coordinator, Comrd. Chimezie Princewill Okezie, emphasized the need to amplify the voices of young people and ensure that their concerns receive the attention they deserve. He noted that the organization would focus on advocacy, capacity building, and encouraging active youth participation in governance and community development.
He further disclosed that the chapter would soon unveil a series of programmes and initiatives aimed at improving the welfare, development, and empowerment of youths across Bende Local Government Area.
The coordinator urged residents, particularly young people, to remain engaged and support efforts geared towards sustainable development and responsible leadership. He stressed that the future of Abia State and its local governments depends on making informed political choices and ensuring that the gains already recorded are sustained.
With the inauguration of its Bende chapter, the Concerned Abia Youths Initiative says it is set to deepen youth participation in governance while continuing its mission of creating a better future through active civic engagement and leaders
hip development.
