Cruise is no stranger to major sporting events. “The Mission Impossible” star wowed audiences during the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games with a dramatic rooftop stunt that symbolically passed the Olympic flag to Los Angeles ahead of the 2028 Games.

He has also been spotted at several World Cup matches during the tournament, including cheering on Team USA.
The closing ceremony is being produced by Balich Wonder Studio, led by Marco Balich, who also directed the opening and closing ceremonies of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

FIFA has encouraged ticket holders to arrive early, saying fans inside the stadium will play an active role in the show.

Curated by Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in partnership with Global Citizen, the show will feature Justin Bieber, Shakira, Madonna, BTS, Burna Boy, conductor Gustavo Dudamel and the PS22 Chorus.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is the first edition of the tournament to feature 48 national teams and be jointly hosted by three countries, Canada, Mexico and the United States, making it the biggest World Cup in FIFA history.
