Media personality Solomon Buchi has sparked reactions online after criticising a viral dance trend that has gained attention on social media.

In a video making the rounds online, Buchi described the dance as “disgusting” and “crass,” particularly expressing disappointment over women participating in the trend.

According to him, the dance, which involves raising one’s leg and smacking the private area, portrays those who perform it as “unprincipled,” “uncultured” and “uncouth.”

Buchi also questioned the values and upbringing of individuals who participate in the trend, stating that he would personally not follow anyone who engages in the dance.

“I’m here to tell you guys that that dance you do where you lift your leg up and you smack your private part is disgusting and it makes you look so crass. It makes you look so so much of a joker.”

He went on to challenge the idea that wearing expensive or designer outfits is enough to make someone appear classy.

“And it’s so sad that you see a lot of women doing it and tomorrow these same women will claim to be classy. You think class is all about wearing designers.”

The media personality further argued that a person’s public behaviour can overshadow the values they may have received from their parents while growing up.

“No matter how much money you have, we will always know that you are crass and that you have no levels and that your parents did not raise you well or probably they did raise you well but you threw away all of that training.”

Despite his strong criticism, Buchi acknowledged that everyone has the freedom to make personal choices. He, however, maintained that he also has the right to express his opinion and form his own perception of people based on their actions.

“But no, your body, your choice. Well, your body, your choice, my mouth, my opinion, my mind, my perception of you.”

His comments have since generated discussion among social media users, with some agreeing with his position on class and public conduct, while others believe people should be free to participate in trends without being judged.
