Otti praises peaceful primaries
Addressing party members, Governor Alex Otti commended the State Working Committee for repositioning the party and appreciated stakeholders for their continued commitment.
He also praised the peaceful conduct of the Labour Party’s primary elections, describing the exercise as evidence of the party’s growing institutional maturity.
According to the governor, while some political parties were still battling internal processes relating to the submission of candidates, the Labour Party had successfully concluded its own exercise.
Governor Otti said his decision to remain in the Labour Party reflected his belief that leadership should always place the collective interest of the people above personal considerations.
He urged party leaders, candidates, and supporters to remain focused, disciplined, and committed as preparations for the 2027 elections continue.
The governor stressed that every responsibility assigned to party leaders should be taken seriously, noting that electoral victory would depend on unity, organisation, and sustained grassroots mobilisation.
Six operational vehicles distributed
In a move aimed at boosting the party’s operational capacity, the State Working Committee officially distributed six Toyota Sienna vehicles to strategic departments.
The vehicles were allocated to the offices of the State Chairman, State Secretary, Organising Secretary, Woman Leader, Youth Leader, and the Publicity Department.
The party leadership said the vehicles would improve mobility, coordination, and service delivery across the various departments.
It also announced that additional vehicles would soon be procured and distributed to other departments as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the Labour Party’s administrative and operational capacity in Abia State.
The meeting ended with stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the party ahead of the 2027 General Elections and resolving to convene a broader stakeholders’ meeting in the near future to sustain consultations and deepen party unity.
