British Singer Lauren Bennett, Known for Vocals on “Party Rock Anthem,” Dies at 36
July 7 () — British singer Lauren Bennett, best known for her vocals on American electronic dance music (EDM) duo LMFAO’s 2011 global hit “Party Rock Anthem” and as a member of girl group G.R.L., has died at the age of 36.
Her former bandmates announced her death in a statement shared on Instagram on Monday, July 6. The cause of death has not been disclosed.
“It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren,” G.R.L. said. “Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us.”
The group added: “We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us.
Her beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved. Rest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts.”

According to Kent and Medway Coroner records, Bennett died on May 29 in England. An inquest into her death is scheduled for October.
Bennett rose to international fame after featuring on LMFAO’s “Party Rock Anthem,” one of the biggest hits of 2011.
The song spent six weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while its music video has surpassed 2.5 billion views on YouTube.
She later joined G.R.L., the girl group created by Robin Antin as a reboot of The Pussycat Dolls. The group released songs including “Ugly Heart,” “Wild Wild Love” with Pitbull, “Vacation,” and “Lighthouse.”
Before joining G.R.L., Bennett was a member of Paradiso Girls. She also worked with artists including will.i.am, CeeLo Green, and Pitbull, and contributed songs to the soundtracks of “Date Night” and “21 Jump Street.”
Bennett is survived by her longtime partner, actor and dancer Kenny Wormald, and their daughter, Harlow.
Tributes have continued to pour in from friends, former bandmates, and fans, who remembered Bennett for her warmth, talent, and the lasting impact she made through her music.
