Tinubu Appoints Namdas BCDA DG, Obahiagbon, Umeoji NDPHC Executive Directors
June 27 () — President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of former House of Representatives spokesman, Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas, as the new Director-General of the Border Communities Development Agency (BCDA), alongside the appointment and reappointment of two executive directors of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).
The appointments, announced on Friday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, take immediate effect.
Namdas succeeds Dr Dakorinama Alabo George, who stepped down from the leadership of the BCDA to pursue an elective political position in his home state.
A former lawmaker, who represented Ganye/Jada/Mayo Belwa/Toungo Federal Constituency of Adamawa State, Namdas served as spokesman of the 8th House of Representatives. He was also among the aspirants in the recently concluded governorship primary election in Adamawa State.
Before venturing into partisan politics, Namdas built a career in journalism and public relations. He served as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa State Governor, Boni Haruna, and is widely regarded as an experienced media and communications professional.

In a related development, President Tinubu appointed former Edo lawmaker, Patrick Obahiagbon, as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).
Obahiagbon replaces Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned from the position to pursue his political ambition in Edo State.
Popular for his distinctive command of the English language, Obahiagbon previously served in both the Edo State House of Assembly and the House of Representatives, where he earned national prominence for his eloquent parliamentary contributions.
The President also reappointed Mr Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services, of the NDPHC.
Umeoji, who represented Aguata Federal Constituency of Anambra State in the 9th House of Representatives, returns to the position after resigning earlier to pursue his political aspiration in his home state.
The Presidency said the appointments form part of efforts to strengthen leadership in key government agencies and public institutions, expressing confidence that the appointees will bring their experience in governance, public administration and legislative affairs to bear in advancing their respective organisations’ mandates.
