  • INEC has restored four previously suppressed State House of Assembly constituencies in Delta and Kogi States after court judgements ordered their reinstatement, reopening legislative representation for thousands of voters in the affected areas.

  • Political parties have been directed to conduct fresh primaries between August 21 and August 25, 2026, to produce candidates for the restored constituencies ahead of the elections.

  • The Commission has scheduled September 19, 2026, for elections into the reinstated constituencies, alongside previously announced bye-elections in Gombe, Bauchi, Delta and Kano States.

  • INEC says all timelines and activities contained in the revised timetable for the 2027 General Election remain applicable to the restored constituencies, urging political parties to comply fully with electoral regulations.
