Air Peace Secures Approval For Brazil Flight Services, Targets Toronto, New York, China Routes
June 20 () — West Africa’s largest carrier, Air Peace, has recorded a major milestone in its international expansion drive following approval to commence scheduled flight operations into Brazil, alongside strategic plans to launch services to Toronto, New York, and key destinations in China.
The approval was granted by Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC), authorising Air Peace to operate regular passenger, cargo and mail services between Nigeria and Brazil, a development that positions the airline as a key player in strengthening air connectivity between Africa and South America.
The clearance, contained in ANAC Ordinance No. 19.449/2026, allows the Nigerian carrier to operate scheduled services between Brazil and destinations within its existing and expanding international network, effectively opening a new intercontinental corridor for African aviation.
Industry observers say the approval marks a significant step in Air Peace’s transformation from a regional heavyweight into a global airline, as it intensifies efforts to secure landing rights in several major international markets.
The airline has already applied to aviation authorities in Canada and the United States for approvals to launch scheduled operations into Toronto and New York, respectively, in line with its broader long-haul expansion strategy.

Air Peace is also advancing plans to resume operations into Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and Guangzhou, China, while working towards the introduction of three weekly flights into Manchester in the United Kingdom, further strengthening its footprint across Europe, Asia, North America, the Middle East, the Caribbean and South America.
In addition to its intercontinental expansion, the airline recently announced new regional services to Douala in Cameroon, Libreville in Gabon, Bamako in Mali and Conakry in Guinea, scheduled to commence on August 1, as part of its broader network growth across West and Central Africa.
The airline’s current international operations already include London in the United Kingdom, Barbados in the Caribbean, and key West African destinations such as Accra in Ghana, Freetown in Sierra Leone, Dakar in Senegal, Banjul in The Gambia, Monrovia in Liberia and Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire.
A direct Nigeria–Brazil service is expected to significantly reshape travel dynamics between both countries by reducing journey times from nearly 48 hours, often involving multiple stopovers, to approximately seven hours on a direct flight.
Aviation experts note that the new route could unlock substantial opportunities in tourism, trade, investment and cultural exchange, while also improving cargo efficiency between Africa’s largest economy and South America’s largest market.
Beyond passenger travel, the ANAC approval is expected to strengthen Air Peace’s cargo operations and deepen commercial cooperation between Nigeria, Brazil and the wider South American region, particularly in agriculture, energy, manufacturing and technology exchange.
Historically, Nigeria and Brazil share long-standing cultural and economic ties, but analysts say direct air connectivity has remained a critical missing link in bilateral relations, a gap this development is now set to address.
With Brazil now added to its expanding list of international destinations, Air Peace says it remains committed to advancing its global footprint while consolidating its position as Africa’s leading private airline with a rapidly diversifying intercontinental network.
The airline reiterated its long-term vision of becoming a world-class aviation brand driven by safety, reliability and connectivity, as it continues to pursue new approvals and expand its presence across strategic global markets.
