August 6, () — The family of former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, has announced the death of her husband, Mr Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, who passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, in Lagos State. He was 62 years old.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by Rev. C.A. Adeosun on behalf of the family and titled, “Announcement of the Passing of Mr Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun.”

The family described the late Anthony Adeosun as a respected businessman, devoted Christian and family man whose life was defined by integrity, humility, generosity and an enduring commitment to God and humanity.

According to the statement, his death has left a profound void in the lives of his loved ones, even as they take solace in their Christian faith.

The statement read, “It is with profound sorrow, yet in total submission to the will of Almighty God, that the Adeosun family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, and brother, Mr Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun, who was called home to glory on Wednesday, 5th August 2026, in Lagos.

“He was 62 years old. Niyi was a distinguished businessman and a devoted Christian whose integrity, generosity, and steadfast faith touched the lives of all who knew him.

“He lived a life defined by hard work, service to God, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.”

The family noted that beyond his accomplishments in business, Anthony Adeosun would be remembered for his compassion, quiet strength and unwavering dedication to those around him.

It said his legacy would endure through the lives he impacted and the values he embodied throughout his lifetime.

While acknowledging the immense grief occasioned by his passing, the family said it remained comforted by the hope of the Christian faith and prayed for God’s strength to bear the irreparable loss.

The statement further disclosed that details of his funeral and Christian burial arrangements would be announced in due course.

Anthony Adeosun is survived by his wife, former Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun; their children; his siblings, including the founder of Kuramo Capital, Adewale Adeosun; and other members of the extended family.

The family also expressed appreciation to friends, associates and members of the public who had reached out with messages of sympathy, prayers and support since news of his death broke.
