  • Makinwa believes that men should contribute financially in relationships, even if their earnings are low.

Popular Nigerian media personality and actress, Toke Makinwa, has shared her thoughts on financial responsibilities in relationships, stating that she finds it difficult to understand when women say they financially support men.

The outspoken media personality made the comment while discussing relationships and expectations between partners, explaining that she believes a man should contribute financially, regardless of how little he earns.

According to Toke, even if she were dating a man who had very limited income, she would still expect him to provide something.

“I struggle to understand when women say they financially support a man. If I date a broke guy who earns ₦5,000, he must give me ₦3,000 from it or I’ll ghost him,” she said.
