- A Nigerian lady has claimed she was denied a U.S. visa because she was considered a foreign national rather than due to her finances or documentation.
- Her experience has generated mixed reactions online, with some advising Nigerians to delay visa applications while current U.S. immigration policies remain in effect.
A Nigerian lady has gone viral after recounting her experience at the U.S. Embassy, where she said her visa application was denied.
According to her, the refusal had nothing to do with her financial status or supporting documents but was based on her nationality.
“I’m just coming from the U.S. Embassy where I applied for my U.S. visa. I was denied for being a foreign national. Not my finances. Not my documents.”
Her video has sparked conversations online, especially amid recent concerns over changes affecting certain U.S. visa categories for Nigerians and other countries.
Reacting to the video, some social media users argued that applicants should stay informed about current U.S. immigration policies before applying, while others shared similar experiences.
@Simon
My simple advice to Nigerians: hold off on US visa applications for now. The current US administration has made its position on immigration clear. Don’t spend your money testing your luck if the chances of approval are low.

Nigerians are messed up. They also denied me.
@MRedhene
After your people have destroyed Nigeria image, you’re looking for a US visa to go and continue doing your shit.
