“Upon my return from my African Union assignment in Kenya and Egypt, I was deeply saddened to receive the news of your dear mother’s transition into glory at the age of 88”, the former president stated.

He added that he was commiserating with the cleric, the entire Oyakhilome family and the global LoveWorld community over the loss.

Obasanjo described the late Deaconess Angel, affectionately known as “Big Mummy,” as a respected pillar within the LoveWorld community, where she was cherished for her devotion to the ministry and her maternal influence on numerous believers.

According to him, she remained closely connected to the growth of the ministry until her death, providing guidance and inspiration to members of the Christian community.

The former president also recalled that her marriage to her late husband, Elder Tim E. Oyakhilome, produced seven children, including Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, Reverend Ken Oyakhilome and Pastor Linda Okocha.

While acknowledging the pain caused by her death, Obasanjo urged the family and the LoveWorld community to draw comfort from the life she lived and the legacy she left behind.

“While her departure leaves a massive void, we take solace in the exemplary life she led and the iconic legacy she leaves behind,” he said.

He prayed that God would grant Pastor Oyakhilome, his siblings and other members of the family the strength to bear the loss, adding that the deceased should be granted eternal rest.

Jonathan, in his condolence message, also described Deaconess Angel as a devoted mother whose life was characterised by service to God and humanity, discipline and exemplary conduct.

The former president expressed sympathy with Pastor Oyakhilome, the Oyakhilome family and the Believers’ LoveWorld community, saying the deceased’s life reflected virtue, wisdom and dedication to her family.

“Mama was a devoted mother who lived a life of impact and service to God and humanity. As a mother, her life was one of discipline and exemplary character, embodying virtue and wisdom,” Jonathan stated.

He said her dedication to raising her children was reflected in their achievements and leadership within the Christian community, noting that their influence extended across Nigeria, Africa and other parts of the world.

Jonathan acknowledged the pain associated with losing a mother but urged the bereaved family to take comfort in the deceased’s legacy of faith and service.

“The passing of a mother is a painful experience, one that is difficult to quantify. However, I hope you take solace in the rich legacy of faith and impact that Mama left behind”, he said.

He also encouraged the family to draw strength from the Christian belief in eternal life, expressing the hope that the deceased was in the presence of God.

“May God console you and continue to sustain you with hope and love during this moment,” Jonathan added, praying for the eternal peace of her soul.

Akpabio, in his condolence message, described the late Deaconess Angel as a valuable member of the LoveWorld community whose devotion to God and service to the Christian faith left an enduring legacy.

The Senate president expressed sorrow over her death and conveyed his condolences to Pastor Oyakhilome on behalf of his family, the people of Akwa Ibom North-West Senatorial District and the 10th Senate.

“The demise of such a valuable asset who raised and moulded you into a global icon is not only harrowing; it is a loss to LoveWorld, the origin of Christ Embassy where she served as a Deaconess until her demise,” Akpabio stated.

He said the deceased earned widespread respect not only as the mother of the LoveWorld president but also through her personal commitment to the Christian faith and dedication to the service of God.

According to Akpabio, her devotion to the faith should continue to inspire Pastor Oyakhilome and generations of Christians to remain committed to serving God.

He urged the cleric to take consolation in the belief that his mother had lived as a faithful Christian and expressed confidence that her spiritual legacy would endure.
