“Even As A Doctor, I’m Struggling”- Doctor Laments Nigeria’s Rising Cost Of Living

A Nigerian doctor has sparked conversations online after opening up about the financial pressure she faces despite working in a highly respected profession.

In an emotional post, the doctor expressed frustration with the country’s economic situation, revealing that rising expenses have made her reconsider some everyday lifestyle choices.

According to her, she recently found herself wondering whether she would be able to afford her gym membership in the coming month. She also questioned whether spending money on Greek yoghurt would be a wise decision or an unnecessary financial burden.

The doctor said, “I hate this country so much I hate everything about it I’m a freaking doctor But I’m here debating if I can afford to pay for the gym next month.”

She went on to explain that even relatively modest purchases now require careful financial consideration.

“I’m debating if buying Greek yoghurt is a good idea or a financial mistake,” she added.

Her comments highlight the growing financial concerns among working Nigerians, including professionals who may have stable careers but are still feeling the impact of increased living expenses.

The doctor also mentioned how long it had been since she last enjoyed a popular malt drink, further illustrating how she has become more conscious of her spending.

She said, “Dyk the last time I drank Malta Guinness? 2 weeks ago.”

Her remarks have since generated reactions online, with many Nigerians relating to the experience of having to reconsider ordinary purchases as the cost of living continues to put pressure on household and personal budgets.
