According to music data platform, ChartMasters, the Grammy-winning singer has taken the top spot on the African all-time sales ranking, moving ahead of fellow Nigerian superstar, Wizkid, who has recorded 14.426 million equivalent album sales.
The ranking combines album sales, digital downloads, physical sales, and streaming equivalents to measure an artist’s global music performance. Burna Boy’s achievement highlights his continued growth as one of Africa’s biggest global music acts.
The singer’s international breakthrough gained major momentum in 2018 following the success of his hit song “YE.” Since then, he has released several successful albums, including “African Giant”, “Twice as Tall”, and “Love, Damini”, which have earned billions of streams worldwide.
