Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing has shared a heartfelt message she received from a man following her highly discussed clash with reality TV star Phyna.
The man revealed that his wife insisted they stay up late to watch Nkechi during her appearance at Chaos in the Ring. According to him, seeing the actress step into the ring made him appreciate the courage and determination it took to take on the challenge.
He admitted that watching her changed his perception of her, saying he had previously judged her without fully understanding the strength behind her public persona.
The man described Nkechi as a “true warrior” and said her performance earned his utmost respect.
Sharing the message on social media, Nkechi reflected on how she may have allowed the public to see her at her lowest moments.
She, however, noted that beneath that image was a woman determined to survive and willing to do whatever it takes to overcome life’s challenges.
The actress appeared to appreciate the message, suggesting that there is often more to a person’s struggles and actions than what the public gets to see.
Her words…
“Out of the thousands of messages in my DM, this one stood out for me.
You might ask why? For years, I have presented myself in a very bad state in the eyes of the public, for which I take full responsibility.
So many dislike me for my acts, misconduct: drama and constant notoriety.
But behind the online shenanigans is a woman who will do anything to survive in the kind of country she finds herself in, a woman who stands for herself and refuses to be bullied into silence.
I am still not seeking validation; I’m not asking everyone to like me. I am simply saying that if you get to know me outside this social space, on my mother’s grave, your perception about me will change at first meeting, but sadly not everyone will get to experience me, and that is very okay!!!! Still the Misunderstood Sweetheart Nkechi Blessing Sunday!!!!”.
