September 23, () – The Nigerian Exchange Limited extended its positive run on Wednesday, with the All-Share Index (ASI) rising 576.36 points to 251,191.02, representing a 0.23 percent gain.

Market capitalisation also increased by N374bn, rising from N162.682tn at the opening to N163.056tn at the close.

The session recorded 43 gainers and 20 decliners, reflecting sustained positive sentiment across the market.

On the gainers’ chart:Collage of company logos: Eterna (green/orange), CMFO (top right), Haldane McCall HM, Thomas Wyatt, and Omatek (yellow) arranged together.

  • ETERNA surged 10.00 percent (N35.00 to N38.50).
  • THOMASWY rallied 9.88 percent (N2.53 to N2.78).
  • CMFC climbed 9.76 percent (N2.46 to N2.70).
  • HMCALL jumped 9.70 percent (N2.99 to N3.28).
  • OMATEK soared 9.63 percent (N1.35 to N1.48).

On the decliners’ side:Collage of business logos: Caverton Offshore Support Group PLC, Wapic, Veritas Capital Assurance PLC, UPL, and United Capital logo.

  • CAVERTON plunged 9.09 percent (N4.40 to N4.00).
  • UPL tumbled 9.00 percent (N5.00 to N4.55).
  • WAPIC shed 6.30 percent (N2.38 to N2.23).
  • VERITASKAP slipped 5.45 percent (N1.10 to N1.04).
  • UCAP declined 5.00 percent (N18.00 to N17.10).

Seplat Energy, Presco Plc, Julius Berger, Champion Breweries, Golden Guinea Breweries, Cadbury Nigeria, Nestle Nigeria, among others, closed flat.

The market maintained its upward trajectory, supported by broad-based gains and positive breadth.
Sustained buying interest could support further advances, although profit-taking remains a factor after the recent gains.
