Jude Didn’t Like Lola Because She Was Yoruba and Older Than Peter – Author Mervis Elebe Alleges

• Author Mervis Elebe has alleged that Jude Okoye and other members of the P-Square family opposed Peter Okoye’s relationship with Lola because she was older than Peter and Yoruba.
• Elebe, who said she visited the family’s Omole home as a teenager, claimed she personally witnessed tension surrounding Peter and Lola’s relationship and maintained that the family’s opposition to their marriage was evident from the beginning.

Author Mervis Elebe has alleged that P-Square’s elder brother, Jude Okoye, did not support Peter Okoye’s relationship with Lola because she was Yoruba and older than the singer.

Elebe, who said she met the P-Square brothers in 2008 when she was 17, recounted her experience during a recent discussion about the ongoing family feud.

According to her, she visited the brothers’ Omole, Lagos home as a teenage fan hoping to meet them and get an autograph on her P-Square CD. She later became familiar with members of the family after Jude connected her with their cousin who lived in the house.

Elebe claimed Peter was already dating Lola at the time but that they temporarily separated, after which the singer began dating a beauty queen whom she declined to identify.

She alleged that Lola later informed Peter that she was pregnant and initially only wanted him to know. However, Peter reportedly insisted on supporting her.

Elebe claimed Peter’s family was opposed to Lola, particularly because of her age and ethnicity.

“His family did not like Lola at all. Because, number one, she’s older than him, and because she was Yoruba.”

She also recalled witnessing Peter and the unnamed beauty queen arguing over Lola.

“I remember I was in the house that Peter and the beauty queen were actually fighting over this,” she said, adding that the woman reportedly told Peter, “She’s a grown-a+s woman, she can take care of herself.”

According to Elebe, Peter maintained that he needed to support Lola because she was the mother of his child.

She said she later met Lola after she returned from the United States, recalling Peter proudly introducing their son, Cameron.

Elebe further alleged that the family’s opposition to Lola was obvious, even to her as a teenager visiting the home.

“Jude cannot come and say that he never h@ted Lola, because even to me, as just a random guest in the house, it was so clear that he did not like her. The family did not like her.”

She added, “ He never supported the marriage from day one and they made that very, very clear.”

Elebe said she decided to speak about her experience because P-Square had remained close to her heart since she was young. She also prayed for Peter amid the continuing dispute involving the Okoye brothers.
