July 22 , () — American rapper Cardi B has addressed nearly two weeks of speculation about her relationship with Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, saying her personal life draws far more public attention than that of other celebrities.

The Grammy-winning rapper made the comments in a video shared on her Instagram Story on Monday, July 20, days after she and the Udinese goalkeeper were seen having dinner together in Venice, Italy.

“No cap, I’m really hip hop’s Britney Spears,” Cardi B said, suggesting that intense public scrutiny follows her every move.

She claimed she was aware of other celebrities’ private relationships but that the media rarely reported on them.

“I got all the tea on these celebrities… I know who’s with who and what’s doing what. But guess what? Nobody reports about it. You want to know why? Because nobody cares,” she said.

Cardi B said the situation was different for her, with even ordinary aspects of her life quickly becoming public discussion.

“But when it comes to me… I can’t even… do anything without people talking about it. This is crazy,” she said.

She added that she had come to accept the reality of life in the spotlight. “You’ve got to take the good with the bad. It is what it is. People pay for this type of talk,” she said.

The speculation began after Cardi B and Okoye were seen together at the Jean Paul Gaultier Fall/Winter 2026 Haute Couture Show during Paris Fashion Week, where the goalkeeper helped her to her seat.

It intensified after the pair were spotted dining with a group of friends at Gio’s Restaurant inside the St Regis Hotel in Venice. Eyewitnesses from their Venice dinner also confirmed to TMZ that there was absolutely no public display of affection.

The Venice sighting also drew attention from Okoye’s former partner, Dutch model Jelicia Westhoff, who is the mother of his child.

In a lengthy Instagram post shortly after photos from the outing surfaced, Westhoff accused the footballer of infidelity and abuse, and claimed he had been absent as a father to their son.

She later said her criticism was directed solely at Okoye and was not meant to target Cardi B.

Okoye has not publicly responded to the allegations, and neither he nor Cardi B has confirmed a romantic relationship.
