LSSTF Equips NDLEA Lagos Command with 100 Raincoats, Bulletproof Vests, and Helmets

The Lagos State Security Trust Fund has provided new protective gear to the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s Lagos Command to strengthen officer safety and field operations.

During a visit to the command, LSSTF Executive Secretary/CEO, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, handed over bulletproof vests, ballistic helmets, and 100 raincoats to the Assistant Commander-General of Narcotics, Wali Liman Abubakar.

Ogunsan said the donation is aimed at keeping officers protected while on patrol and improving how effectively they work. “We’re here to ensure your vital organs are covered on regular patrols. These vests, helmets, and raincoats will help you do more and achieve more,” he stated.

He credited Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for driving security investment in Lagos, calling him “the best governor on security in Nigeria right now.” Ogunsan also applauded Abubakar’s leadership at the NDLEA Lagos Command.

He sent a firm message to criminal elements: “Lagos is not an open space for trouble. We will not settle for anything less than full safety across the state.”

Receiving the items, Abubakar thanked both the state government and LSSTF, saying the raincoats were especially useful with the rains in full swing. He pledged that the command will ramp up enforcement and public awareness campaigns against drug trafficking and abuse.

“This donation shows we’re supported. NDLEA Lagos will continue to reduce drug trafficking and drug abuse in every way possible,” Abubakar assured.

The LSSTF says this is part of its ongoing support for security agencies in Lagos, which has previously included patrol vehicles, communication equipment, and other operational tools.
