CDP Gives Every Ward a Voice in Development Priorities –Gov. Radda
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has said the Community Development Programme (CDP) empowers every electoral ward to identify and prioritise its development needs through the participation of local stakeholders and religious leaders.
Radda disclosed this today during a courtesy visit to traditional rulers and community leaders at the palace of the Sarkin Rafin Katsina in Mairuwa, Faskari Local Government Area, for his Tinubu/Dikko 2027 campaign engagement.

“Through this initiative, communities are directly involved in identifying projects that will have the greatest impact on their lives. Development is more effective when it addresses the actual needs of the people,” he said.
The Governor explained that the visit was part of his administration’s tradition of respecting traditional institutions and seeking their blessings and counsel before commencing political engagements with the wider public.
“We have come here to pay our respects, renew our relationship, seek your blessings and request your continued guidance and support,” he said.
Radda appreciated traditional rulers for their prayers, advice and support, noting that his administration had taken deliberate steps to improve their welfare and strengthen their roles in governance.
Every second brings Nigerians closer to exercising their democratic right and shaping the future of our nation.
Exercise your democratic right responsibly, peacefully and lawfully.
He also conveyed the greetings of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and solicited continued support for both the Federal and Katsina State Governments.
The Governor acknowledged the contributions of elected representatives to youth empowerment, particularly through the provision of working materials and tricycles.

Earlier, the Sarkin Rafin Katsina, Alhaji Sani Idris Sambo, welcomed the Governor and recalled the commitments made during Radda’s previous campaign visit to restore peace, promote unity and strengthen collaboration with traditional institutions.
He commended the Governor for maintaining regular engagement with traditional rulers and recognising their contributions to governance.
“We are pleased that your administration has continued to demonstrate commitment to these promises through regular engagement and cooperation with traditional rulers,” he said.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Faskari Local Government, Hon. Surajo Aliyu, commended the administration’s commitment to peace, security and community welfare.
He particularly praised the Sarkin Rafin Katsina for his courage and active participation in peacebuilding engagements with communities in forest areas.
“Whenever there is a need to engage communities in the forests or discuss security challenges, the Sarkin Rafin Katsina readily accompanies us without hesitation or fear,” he said.
