NBCC to Host Gov. Alex Otti in Lagos as Abia Showcases Economic Transformation, Infrastructure Revolution
The Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) is set to host the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, at its high-profile “Meet the Governor Series” in Lagos, where the Governor will showcase the state’s sweeping economic transformation, infrastructure development and emerging investment opportunities.
The business engagement, scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2026, is expected to attract investors, corporate executives, business leaders and other key stakeholders interested in Abia’s economic prospects and development agenda.
Governor Otti will use the platform to highlight the progress recorded by his administration over the past three years, particularly in rebuilding critical infrastructure, strengthening the state’s economic foundation and creating a more conducive environment for businesses and investors.
A major focus of the Governor’s presentation will be the administration’s unprecedented expansion of road infrastructure across Abia State.
Within three years, the Otti administration has completed 414 road projects covering a combined 864.12 kilometres across the state.
The massive road construction programme has been positioned as a critical component of the administration’s broader economic strategy, with improved connectivity expected to facilitate the movement of people and goods, boost commercial activities, connect communities and unlock previously inaccessible areas for investment and development.
The infrastructure push has also continued beyond the completed projects, with 82 additional road projects covering approximately 212 kilometres currently under construction at various locations across the state.
The administration believes that sustained investment in infrastructure is essential to unlocking Abia’s economic potential, particularly by providing businesses with the roads and other critical facilities required to operate efficiently, expand their activities and attract new investments.
Against this backdrop, the NBCC engagement provides Governor Otti with an important platform to directly engage Nigeria’s business community and international-facing investors on the opportunities emerging from Abia’s ongoing transformation.
The Governor is expected to present Abia not only as a state undergoing physical reconstruction, but as an increasingly competitive destination for enterprise, investment and sustainable economic growth.
The NBCC Meet the Governor Series is also expected to strengthen collaboration between the Abia State Government and the private sector, while providing prospective investors with greater insight into the administration’s development priorities, economic policies and investment opportunities.
The event will commence at 10:00 a.m. at NBCC Plaza, Olubunmi Owa Street, Off Admiralty Way, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos State.

The engagement comes as the Otti administration intensifies its efforts to reposition Abia through infrastructure renewal, economic expansion and policies designed to build a more business-friendly environment and lay the foundation for long-term, sustainable development.
