November 2, () – President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has assured President Bola Tinubu that Akwa Ibom State will deliver the highest number of votes for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-South region in the 2027 general elections.

Akpabio gave the assurance in Uyo yesterday, at a special prayer service organised to dedicate the APC’s 2027 election campaigns to God at the International Christian Worship Centre, Uyo, with the theme, “We Are Well Able.”
He, however, urged party leaders and members in the state to put aside their differences, embrace unity and present a common front to ensure the party’s victory at the polls.
The Senate President said Akwa Ibom had a responsibility to reciprocate Tinubu’s political support, particularly his backing that paved the way for an indigene of the state to emerge as President of the Senate.
Every second brings Nigerians closer to exercising their democratic right and shaping the future of our nation.
Exercise your democratic right responsibly, peacefully and lawfully.
“Akwa Ibom son, through the support of Mr President, is today the President of the Senate and the number three citizen of Nigeria. Whether you like him or not, he is there today. The only way to thank Mr President for that support is to give him all our votes,” he said.
Akpabio expressed confidence that the turnout and participation at the prayer service demonstrated the state’s readiness to deliver on the electoral promise.

In an address titled “One Family, One Destiny, One Akwa Ibom Under God,” he stressed that the APC must operate as an inclusive political family, without discrimination between founding members and new entrants.
“In the APC family, there should be no aborigines and no newcomers; no landlords and no tenants; no first-class members and no second-class members. There should be only one big family, united by a common purpose and a shared responsibility,” he said.

He added that the party must accommodate everyone, regardless of when they joined, warning against political exclusion and rivalry.
According to him, nobody needs to undermine another member to secure political relevance, insisting that personal ambitions must not supersede the welfare of the party.
Akpabio also described Akwa Ibom as a Nigerian success story, attributing the state’s progress to purposeful leadership, peace and development.
He urged the people to preserve the state’s achievements while recognising their responsibility to contribute to Nigeria’s overall development and national unity.
Earlier, Governor Umo Eno thanked the people for their support in the last election and appealed for stronger backing for Tinubu, Akpabio, himself and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
Eno also expressed his readiness to continue serving the state with the fear of God if re-elected.
