British Actress Emma Hussen Charged in Australia Over Alleged Meth Smuggling Operation

June 19 () — British actress Emaa Hussen has been charged in Australia over an alleged drug trafficking operation involving 320 kilograms of methamphetamine.

She appeared in a Sydney court on Thursday, June 18, after being accused of attempting to import a large quantity of the drug into the country. If convicted, she could face a life sentence.

Police allege Hussen worked alongside two other people from South Australia. They are accused of hiding the drugs inside bags of charcoal that were shipped from Ghana. The drugs are worth about 296 million Australian Dollars.

The investigation began in April when border officers in Sydney checked shipping containers at Port Botany. They used X-ray scans and found a white substance hidden in the charcoal. It was later confirmed to be meth.

Police removed the drugs and tracked the shipment to a storage site in western Sydney.

They say Hussen later came to the site and watched as the containers were unloaded. She was then arrested.

Two other suspects, a 30-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man, were also arrested in Adelaide. Police allege the pair used false identities to rent storage units connected to the case.

Hussen remains in custody after being refused bail and is due to return to court in August as proceedings continue.

She is known for her roles in the television spin-off “EastEnders: E20” and the film “Hummingbird”, alongside Jason Statham.
