NYSC Announces 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Orientation Course in Abia.

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has announced that the 2026 Batch ‘C’ Stream I Orientation Course will hold nationwide from Wednesday, September 30 to Tuesday, October 20, 2026.

According to a statement signed by the NYSC Abia State Public Relations Officer, Alex Ekeoma, on behalf of the State Coordinator, Alhaji Yunusa Tanimu, all mobilised graduates are expected to report to their states of deployment from September 30 for registration as indicated in their call-up letters.

The statement said the deadline for registration is midnight of Friday, October 2, while the swearing-in and official opening ceremony will take place the same day by 9:00am.

In Abia State, the orientation course will be held at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Umunna, Bende Local Government Area.

The statement added that Governor Alex Otti is expected to preside over the swearing-in ceremony, while the Chief Judge of Abia State, Justice Lilian Abai, will administer the Oath of Allegiance to the prospective corps members.
It further directed corps employers in need of corps members to submit their requests to the State Coordinator, NYSC Abia State Secretariat Complex, opposite the Central Bank of Nigeria, Umuahia, through the Local Government Inspector in their respective LGAs.

The NYSC also stated that prospective corps members residing in Abia but deployed to other states due to severe medical conditions could report at the Abia Orientation Camp for registration, provided they present convincing evidence of their medical conditions.
Similarly, married female prospective corps members residing with their husbands in Abia State but deployed elsewhere were advised to report at the camp with their marital documents for registration.

The NYSC urged prospective corps members to avoid night journeys and, where necessary, break their journeys by 6:00pm. They were also advised to carefully read their call-up letters and ensure they have all required documents before travelling to camp.

The statement stressed that no prospective corps member would be registered without the original qualifying certificates or required documents.
It further disclosed that submission of the National Identification Number (NIN), in both hard and soft copies, is now mandatory and forms part of the requirements for corps members to receive their allowances.

The State Coordinator appreciated the people of Abia for their continued hospitality towards corps members and appealed for the same gesture to be extended to the incoming batch.
