MOFI Commends Governor Alex Otti’s Transformational Leadership, Lauds Infrastructure Revolution in Abia
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Ministry of Finance Incorporated (MOFI), Dr. Armstrong Ume Takang, has applauded Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, for what he described as the remarkable transformation taking place across the state under his administration.

Dr. Ume Takang made the commendation on Friday, July 24, 2026, when he led a delegation from MOFI on a courtesy visit to Governor Otti at the Government House, Umuahia.
Speaking during the visit, the MOFI boss praised Governor Otti’s visionary leadership, noting that Abia had undergone a dramatic turnaround since the Governor assumed office.
According to him, the state, which was once a subject of ridicule among the comity of states, has now become a shining example of purposeful governance and infrastructural renewal.
He particularly commended the reconstruction of the Umuahia–Uzuakoli–Akara–Abiriba–Ohafia Highway, describing the project as a game-changer that has significantly improved access to his hometown in Ohafia and made travel along the route smooth and stress-free.
Dr. Ume Takang also expressed appreciation to Governor Otti for the ongoing development in his Asaga-Ohafia community through the Greater Ohafia Development Authority (GODA), highlighting the construction of internal roads and the installation of solar-powered streetlights as projects that have greatly improved the quality of life of residents.
He further thanked the Governor for honoring the memory of his late uncle, Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, during his burial and for immortalizing the renowned cleric by renaming a major highway after him, describing the gesture as thoughtful and deeply appreciated.
Responding, Governor Alex Otti thanked the MOFI delegation for the visit and for recognizing the efforts of his administration in rebuilding Abia State. He assured the delegation that his government remains committed to delivering more dividends of democracy and sustaining the pace of development across all sectors of the state.

Ikechukwu Monday; the Commissioner for Transport, Dr. Chimezie Isaac Ukeagbu; the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Transport, Chief Obioma Rueben Nwogbe, PhD; the Special Adviser to the Governor on Agriculture, Prince Christian Enweremadu, as well as other senior governm
