Jide Kosoko Causes Stir As He Appears In APC Campaign Uniform

Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has sparked reactions online after a video showing him in an All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign outfit surfaced on social media.

The footage, which began circulating on X and Instagram on September 18, 2026, showed the veteran actor dressed in a white short-sleeved shirt featuring APC logos, Nigerian flag symbols and the inscription, “VOTE Kadri Obafemi Hamzat for governor.” He also wore a branded “KOH” cap.

His appearance came shortly after the Lagos State chapter of the APC unveiled its campaign council structure for the 2027 elections on September 17.

Kosoko was named Co-Director of the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, headed by Toke Benson-Awoyinka, while actress Eniola Badmus was appointed Deputy Director.

The campaign council, chaired by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was formally inaugurated on September 18 at the APC Secretariat on ACME Road, Ikeja.

The committee also includes several Fuji musicians and other entertainment personalities, highlighting the party’s involvement of figures from the creative industry as preparations for the 2027 general elections continue.

However, not all those listed welcomed their inclusion.

Actress Toyin Abraham publicly rejected her appointment to the directorate, saying she was not consulted and had no interest in Politics. She subsequently asked members of the public to disregard her name on the list.
