According to a statement issued by the Acting Military Information Officer, Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, Captain Mohammed Goni, the senior operative surrendered to troops of the 3 Battalion under the 24 Task Force Brigade at about 6:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026.

The suspect reportedly surrendered along the Ladari–Jegarawa–Tunokalia axis on the strategic Gamboru–Wulgo Main Supply Route following recent coordinated offensives by ground troops and the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI against terrorist hideouts.

Preliminary investigations identified the surrendered insurgent as the chief finance operative of the ISWAP enclave at Jubillaram, where he allegedly coordinated the movement of funds, managed logistics and facilitated the procurement of supplies for the terrorist group.

Military sources said he surrendered alongside two male children, signalling what officials described as growing desperation among senior members of the insurgent organisation.

Troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, four magazines, 101 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, one motorcycle and the sum of ₦40,000 from the surrendered operative.
