Anyaso Moves to Restore Electricity in Nkpa
The prolonged blackout in parts of Nkpa, Bende Local Government Area of Abia State, may soon be over as the Labour Party candidate for Bende Federal Constituency, Dr. Chimaobi Desmond Anyaso, has commenced efforts to restore electricity to affected communities.
The intervention follows a request made by residents during a recent town hall meeting with Anyaso, where Mr. Chimezie Ikebuiro, speaking on behalf of the people, appealed for assistance to restore electricity infrastructure vandalised in the area.
Although Anyaso was yet to assume public office, he pledged to look into the situation. Less than three months after the engagement, work has commenced on the restoration of the affected facilities.

The ongoing intervention includes the restoration of the vandalised electricity line linking Amediaba and Amaegbuato, while efforts are also underway to energise the transformer recently donated to Amediuku by the Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR.
The development is expected to improve electricity supply and extend access to more communities across Nkpa.
Commending the intervention, Deacon Chief Charles Madubuike, Ebekue Dike 1 of Nkpa and Chairman of the Works Committee of the Nkpa Development Union, praised Anyaso for responding to the community’s request with his personal resources before assuming public office.
Also speaking, the President-General of Amediuku Nkpa Community, Mr. Agoha Uchenna, expressed appreciation to Anyaso, saying the people of Amediuku had embraced him as a son since the appeal was made.
Agoha said the intervention had further strengthened the relationship between Anyaso and the people of Nkpa.
The Director-General of the Chima Anyaso Campaign Organisation and an illustrious son of Nkpa, Pastor Okechukwu Dike, Eriwe-Echeta, described the project as a practical response to a specific need identified by the community.
He commended Anyaso for committing personal resources to address the electricity challenge even before assuming public office.
Members of the Chima Anyaso Foundation, led by the former Commissioner for Boundary and Conflict Resolution, Hon. Chief Mascot Imo Obike, were present to monitor and supervise the ongoing restoration work.
