Toy Story 5’ Dominates Box Office With Biggest Worldwide Opening of 2026
June 22 () — “Toy Story 5” has opened with a record box office debut, earning $160 million in North America and $312 million worldwide over its first weekend.
The film, released on June 19, 2026, now has the biggest opening weekend in the “Toy Story” franchise. It surpassed “Toy Story 4,” which opened to $120.9 million domestically.
Outside North America, the film made $152 million, pushing the global total to $312 million. It also recorded the biggest worldwide opening of 2026 so far.
The movie played in 4,425 theaters across North America and earned about $17.5 million from Friday previews.
Directed by Pixar’s Andrew Stanton, the film continues the story of Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and the rest of the toys as they face a new challenge involving a child’s smart tablet.

The opening places “Toy Story 5” ahead of other major 2026 releases and gives Disney and Pixar a strong start to the year, marking a solid return for the studio at the box office.
