2027: Uzodinma wanted to be vice-president to Ahmad Lawan – Okorocha reveals

Former Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has accused Governor Hope Uzodinma of nursing an ambition to become the vice presidential candidate to former Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, during the 2022 All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential primary.

Okorocha made the allegation on Thursday while appearing on MEDIA TODAY, hours after he was declared the authentic winner of the APC primary for Imo West Senatorial District.

The former governor claimed that Uzodinma had always aspired to occupy multiple political positions, including the vice-presidency.

“Hope wants to be everything,” Okorocha said, alleging that the Imo governor had sought to become Lawan’s running mate during the APC presidential contest in 2022.

He also questioned Uzodinma’s political leadership and representation of Imo State, insisting that the people of the state were dissatisfied with his administration.

Okorocha further accused the governor of failing to address insecurity in the state, claiming that violence had increased under his administration.

He contrasted Uzodinma’s handling of security challenges with his own tenure as governor, saying he managed similar challenges peacefully without bloodshed.

The former governor also urged Uzodinma to accept the outcome of the APC senatorial primary rather than challenge the result.

“If I were him, let him forget going to appeal. Let him just accept this in good faith because he did not win an election,” Okorocha said.

He further argued that the result could not be overturned through what he described as an attempt by one individual to manipulate the process.

Okorocha maintained that his decision to speak out was aimed at challenging what he described as poor leadership and political activities under Uzodinma’s administration.
