FFDGN Celebrates Akomas at 66
The Forum of Former Deputy Governors of Nigeria (FFDGN) has congratulated its National Chairman, Dr Chris Alozie Akomas, on his 66th birthday.
In a birthday message issued in Abuja, the forum’s Director-General, Dr Kenneth Ibe-Kalu, described Akomas as a committed public servant whose experience had contributed to the growth and leadership of the organisation.

Ibe-Kalu said Akomas had used his experience in public administration to promote discussions on governance and national development, adding that national conferences organised under his leadership had provided platforms for former deputy governors and other stakeholders to exchange ideas on issues affecting the country.
He also said Akomas had continued to advocate policies aimed at improving the welfare of Nigerians and addressing basic socio-economic needs.
The FFDGN Director-General described the celebrant as a bold and courageous leader who pursued issues he believed in with dedication and concern for humanity.
He called on Nigerians at home and abroad to join the forum in celebrating Akomas on the occasion of his 66th birthday.
Akomas served as Deputy Governor of Abia State and later represented the state as Federal Commissioner on the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), where he also chaired the Indices and Disbursement Committee.
He previously served as Abia State Commissioner for Lands and Survey and held administrative positions at the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan, and the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI).
Akomas holds a PhD in Applied Psychology from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye, and a master’s degree in Personnel Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
He is also the National Secretary of the South-East Stakeholders Forum.
The FFDGN, a non-partisan body comprising former deputy governors from the 36 states, provides a platform for members to share governance experiences and make contributions to national development, democratic governance and socio-economic advancement.
