2027: Hope you’ll visit remaining 33 states – Peter Obi to Tinubu after ‘presidential sleep’ in Akwa Ibom

The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has challenged President Bola Tinubu to visit all the remaining 33 states of Nigeria after spending a night in Akwa Ibom State.

Obi made the call in reaction to Tinubu‘s comment in Akwa Ibom State, where he promised to sleep over last night.

Speaking at the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential campaign rally in Uyo, President Tinubu said he would stay overnight and have a “second term presidential sleep.”

Posting on X, Obi congratulated Tinubu on spending a night in Akwa Ibom State, while urging him to directly engage with Nigerians.

He said: “I sincerely hope this visit will inspire you to travel to the remaining 33 states of the federation, spend time with the people and, more importantly, explain what your administration has done with the N15.8 trillion saved from the removal of fuel subsidy, the over $100 billion you have borrowed, the increased revenues accruing to the government from taxing Nigerians, and the additional government revenues which your administration celebrated last year as having surpassed its target.”
