Nollywood Actor Joseph Momodu Begins New Chapter As U.S. Army Soldier

June 26 () — Nollywood actor, Joseph Momodu, has officially joined the United States Army after completing his basic training.
The actor, who is based in Los Angeles, announced the news on Instagram on Friday, June 26. He shared that he spent 10 weeks cut off from regular communication while undergoing rigorous training.
Momodu completed his training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, and has now been designated as a Specialist (SPC) in the U.S. Army.
Reflecting on the experience, he described it as one of the most difficult periods of his life.
“From inception, I have always believed in achievements earned through merit, which is why I constantly push myself beyond limits.”
He added that the training tested him physically and mentally, bringing moments of deep doubt and exhaustion.
“There were moments of doubt and times I questioned myself, ‘Who send me message sef?’ But I never lost sight of the finish line.”
Momodu said the 10-week program pushed him to his limits and changed him.
“Ten weeks of being incommunicado. Ten weeks of learning to find comfort in discomfort.”
The actor also said his enlistment carries deep personal meaning. He joined the army on April 12, 2026, exactly 20 years after the passing of his father, as a way of honouring his memory and legacy.
He dedicated the achievement to God, his late father, his family, as well as supporters who followed his journey.
His announcement has drawn congratulations from fans and colleagues online as he begins a new chapter in military service.
He has appeared in Nollywood films and TV projects, including “Coming to Nigeria”, “His Baby”, “Devil in Suit” and “Play 2 Kill.”
