Burna Boy Sets New African Record on Billboard Hot 100 Chart With 9th Entry
June 23, () — Nigerian singer Burna Boy has set a new record as the African artist with the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
He earned his ninth entry this week with the song “Dai Dai”, a collaboration with Colombian singer Shakira and the official anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The song debuted at No. 75 on the chart dated June 2026. It also gained more attention after Burna Boy and Shakira performed it at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony.
With this latest entry, Burna Boy moves ahead of Nigerian singer Tems, who previously held the record alongside him with eight entries each.
Burna Boy also becomes the first African artist to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 for six straight years, from 2021 to 2026, with several collaborations.

His chart entries include “Loved By You” (2021), “Last Last” (2022), “Sittin’ On Top Of The World” and “Talibans II” (2023), “Just Like Me” and “We Pray” (2024), “WGFT” (2025), and “Only You” and now “Dai Dai” (2026).
The achievement adds to his growing global success, as he also holds the record for the most entries by an African artist on the UK Singles Chart (26 entries) and the Canadian Hot 100 (12 entries).
