David Hundeyin has alleged that Bola Tinubu’s emergence as Nigeria’s president was influenced by the United States government, rather than being solely determined by Nigerians.
The journalist made the claim while discussing Nigeria’s political situation, alleging that the decision had already been taken by the U.S. State Department before the 2023 presidential election.
According to Hundeyin, the development raises concerns about Nigeria’s sovereignty and the extent of foreign influence in the country’s political affairs.
He described Nigeria as having become a “Puppet State” while arguing that important political decisions affecting the country are being influenced from outside its borders.
“The decision had already been made that Bola Tinubu is going to be Nigeria’s President and the decision was taken by the U.S State Department. It wasn’t taken by any Nigerian… Nigeria has become a Puppet State,” Hundeyin said.
