Tinubu, Adeleke Meet At Aso Villa

• President Bola Tinubu on Thursday received Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, in their first meeting since Adeleke won the state’s governorship election.

• Adeleke arrived at the Villa at 5:25 pm in a navy blue traditional outfit, carrying a walking stick and accompanied by National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

• The meeting came days after Tinubu personally congratulated Adeleke on his re-election, describing the victory as “a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our country.”

• Other Osun officials who accompanied Adeleke included Senator Lere Oyewumi, Sunday Bisi, Akinleye Kazeem and Bamidele Salam.

August 20, () — President Bola Tinubu, on Thursday, received Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, days after the governor secured re-election in the Osun State governorship election.

reports that the Governor arrived at the forecourt of the Villa at exactly 5:25 pm, dressed in a navy blue traditional attire and carrying a walking stick. He arrived in a black Toyota Land Cruiser SUV alongside the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu.

The meeting is the first between Tinubu and Adeleke since the governor won last Saturday’s governorship election, in which he defeated his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), on Wednesday, presented Adeleke and his deputy, Kola Adewusi, with their Certificates of Return in Osogbo, formally confirming their re-election for another four-year term. Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes.

On Sunday, President Tinubu personally called Adeleke to congratulate him on his electoral victory. In his congratulatory message, the President described the outcome of the election as “a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our country.”

Tinubu also urged the governor to use his renewed mandate to unite the people of Osun State irrespective of their political affiliations and choices during the election.

Osun Officials Join Adeleke

Four other officials from Osun State were also seen arriving at the Presidential Villa through the corridors at about 5:40 pm.

They included the Director-General of the Adeleke Campaign Council, Senator Lere Oyewumi; a member of the council, Sunday Bisi; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Akinleye Kazeem; and the member of the House of Representatives representing Ede North/Ede South/Egbedore/Ejigbo Federal Constituency, Bamidele Salam.
