Portable Reacts as Ashabi Simple Threatens to Sue Him Over Children’s Welfare

Nigerian singer and street-pop star Portable has reacted angrily to reports of a dispute between him and his fourth baby mama, Ashabi Simple, over financial support for their children.

The singer addressed the matter in a lengthy social media outburst after Ashabi Simple allegedly threatened to take legal action against him for failing to provide money for the children’s feeding and welfare.

Portable questioned why Ashabi Simple allegedly contacted his manager over the issue instead of approaching him directly. He also expressed frustration over claims that their children were staying with Ashabi Simple’s mother while she reportedly went about her daily activities.

Speaking about their past relationship, Portable said they had already gone their separate ways and accused Ashabi Simple of behaving badly during their time together.

In his words:

“Don’t use children to threaten me; you are the one that brought the private part to me. I did the do, you got pregnant, and we agreed. We are not marrying each other again; we have fought. You did not act well, you acted like an unfortunate human being. Now, you are saying it’s past, and we can be friends, demanding food money for the children. Why are you asking me for that? Train the children alone. The children will eventually come home.”

The singer also addressed a birthday celebration reportedly organised for one of their children without his presence. Portable questioned why people celebrated Ashabi Simple while he, as the children’s father, was absent.

He further expressed concerns about how any money sent for the children’s upkeep would be used, suggesting that he was uncertain whether the funds would directly benefit the children.

Portable also dismissed the alleged threat of legal action, insisting that Ashabi Simple should instead return the children to him if she believed he was not providing adequate support.

“She said she is going to sue me because I did not drop food money. Give me my children; another woman will take care of them,” he said.

According to the singer, he would have no problem taking responsibility for the children if they were in his care. He claimed he would handle their school fees, birthdays, clothing and feeding without hesitation.

Portable maintained that his concerns were not about abandoning his children but about his lack of trust regarding how money sent for their upkeep would be managed.

He concluded his rant by taking another swipe at Ashabi Simple, claiming that she had lost her “glory” and stressing that their relationship was now firmly in the past.
