PFIPC: Court Remands Adeyemi In Kuje Prison
The Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi in Kuje Correctional Centre after he pleaded not guilty to an eight-count charge bordering on forgery, conspiracy and impersonation.
Adeyemi is being prosecuted by the Federal Government through the police for allegedly presenting himself as the Director-General of the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
The prosecution alleged that Adeyemi conspired with two persons, identified as Femi and Anu, who are still at large, to forge presidential appointment letters, State House letterheads and other documents, including a purported appointment letter bearing the signature of the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.

Justice Mohammed Garba Umar ordered Adeyemi’s remand after his arraignment, while his counsel, Genesis Francis, informed the court that a bail application had been filed. The case was adjourned until October 12, 2026, for trial and hearing of the bail application.
September 30, () – The Federal High Court in Abuja has remanded Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi in Kuje Correctional Centre after he pleaded not guilty to an 8-count charge, bordering on forgery, conspiracy and impersonation in connection with the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).
Adeyemi was arraigned before Justice Mohammed Garba Umar by the Federal Government through the police following allegations that he falsely presented himself as the Director-General of the purported council and used forged documents to give the organisation an appearance of official government backing.
The charges, filed in November 2025, also implicated two other persons identified as Femi and Anu, who are said to be at large.
According to the prosecution, Adeyemi and his alleged accomplices conspired to forge presidential appointment letters and other official documents purportedly issued by the State House and other government offices.
One of the documents allegedly forged was an appointment letter purportedly signed by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
The prosecution also alleged that the accused persons forged presidential letterhead papers and other correspondence relating to requests for collaboration with the Ministry of Lands, provision of office space, approval for staff accounts and other administrative arrangements purportedly emanating from the State House.
Adeyemi was further accused of falsely holding himself out as Director-General of the purported council between 2024 and 2025.
After the charges were read to him, Adeyemi pleaded not guilty to all eight counts.
Prosecution counsel, Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, told the court that by entering his plea, the defendant had effectively put himself up for trial.
Oyedepo subsequently urged the court to remand Adeyemi in custody pending trial, citing his conduct before his arrest and arraignment.
Defence counsel, Genesis Francis, however, informed the court that he had filed and served the prosecution with an application seeking bail for his client.
Justice Umar thereafter ordered that Adeyemi be remanded at the Kuje Correctional Centre.
The judge adjourned the matter until October 12, 2026, for trial and hearing of the bail application.

The criminal proceedings followed controversy over the purported Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council and Adeyemi’s claim to head the organisation.
The Presidency had previously disowned the purported council and Adeyemi’s alleged appointment, stating that no such presidential appointment existed.
The development prompted scrutiny of documents allegedly used by the organisation in its dealings with government institutions and other entities.
The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs also told a House of Representatives investigative committee that it had reported the activities linked to the purported council to the Office of the National Security Adviser after identifying discrepancies in documents submitted to the ministry.
Adeyemi, however, has denied wrongdoing and has maintained that he is prepared to defend himself against the allegations.
