PAUL BASSEY CALLS FOR Politics OF “LOYALTY AND REALITY”The Political Leader of Ward 2 Urban in Eket Local Government Area, Elder Paul Bassey, has called on members and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to embrace what he described as the “Politics of loyalty and reality” ahead of the 2027 general elections.Elder Bassey made the call on Thursday while addressing stakeholders and party faithful at his residence in Eket during a meeting convened to officially inaugurate the Ward Executive.He urged party members to remain loyal to the administration of Governor Umo Eno and to highlight the achievements of the administration over the past three years.“When they come to tell us what they will do for us, we should be quick to point out to them what has already been done for us.”The Commissioner for Sports said his call was based on his first-hand experience of the administration’s commitment to development and the welfare of the people.Elder Bassey expressed appreciation to Governor Umo Eno for giving him the opportunity to serve in his administration, noting that he had been privileged to witness firsthand the hard work, commitment and sacrifices invested in the development of Akwa Ibom State.“As a member of His Excellency’s first eleven, allow me to assure you that His Excellency has done enough to win the hearts of Akwa Ibomites, especially through his compassion for the needy and less privileged,” he stated.The meeting, which attracted a large turnout of party faithful and stakeholders, also featured commendations for Governor Umo Eno’s administration and calls for greater grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.In his remarks, the immediate past member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Dr. David Lawrence, commended Governor Umo Eno for delivering projects across the 31 local government areas of the state.He urged the newly inaugurated ward and chapter executives to work collectively and support the Governor’s bid for a second term in office.Also speaking, the Ward 1 Urban Councillor, Hon. Johnson Esenowo, and the Supervisor representing the ward, Hon. Emmanuel Otu, thanked Elder Paul Bassey for his consistent efforts in bringing members of Urban Ward 2 together.They pledged to work collectively towards the success of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno and other candidates of the APC in the 2027 elections.The APC Ward Chairman, Deacon Samuel Mbre, charged the newly inaugurated executives to work as a team and ensure the party’s success at the polls.He commended Governor Umo Eno for maintaining close contact with the APC and its members at the grassroots.A former councillor of the ward, Hon. Enobong Akpan, pledged to mobilise women across the ward for the APC ahead of the 2027 elections.She urged the women to unite and work as a team to secure more votes for the party.Speaking at the gathering, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Media, Comrade Mfon Bassey, commended the leadership of Ward 2 Urban for its commitment to strengthening the party at the grassroots.He also thanked Governor Umo Eno for what he described as “superlative leadership” and the spread of development projects across Eket Local Government Area and the 31 local government areas of the state.

Performing the official inauguration of the ward executives, Elder Inyang Ebuk called for greater collaboration among party members and stakeholders.He urged the party leadership to workcollectively with stakeholders to build a stronger and more formidable APC presence at the grassroots.Elder Ebuk also charged party faithful to commence massive mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections, while commending Governor Umo Eno for the completion and commissioning of 39 projects across the state, which he described as “September to Remember.”Among those in attendance were Pastor Umo Bassey, Hon Umoetuk Richard,Hon Kufre Ekpe, Hon David Sam Udo, Hon John Otu, Mr. Steven David, Chief Akpan Monday Bassey, chapter executives, APC ward executives and other party stakeholders.
