“Since 2015, when I showed up to contest election in Abia State, I’ve always won Umunneochi and that is very correct.

“I want to use this opportunity to say, thank you to all of you. We cannot take you for granted”, he said.

The Governor who noted that his administration had spent three years and five months in office, said several projects had been executed or initiated in the area, including the rehabilitation of schools, the functionalisation of 12 out of 18 Primary Healthcare Centres and the ongoing development of a Smart School.

He also disclosed that a General Hospital was being constructed in Umunneochi, describing it as the first of its kind in the local government area.

On infrastructure, the Governor said the 11.27-kilometre ring road from Ngodo was nearing completion, while the Mman Bridge project had reached the design stage, with construction expected to begin soon.

He assured residents that more roads had been captured in the administration’s development plans, adding that efforts to address insecurity would be sustained until lasting peace was achieved.

Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering on its promises, Governor Otti said his government preferred practical results to unfulfilled assurances.

“Instead of saying something and not doing it, we do what we did not say”, he declared.

The Governor also assured new members and political leaders joining the Labour Party in Umunneochi of equal opportunities and treatment, irrespective of when they joined, stressing that the party operated on the principles of fairness and inclusiveness.

Earlier, before proceeding to the campaign venue, Governor Otti visited the palace of HRH Eze Ifeanyi Eke at Amaeke Uru, Lokpanta, Umuchieze, where he met with members of the Umunneochi Council of Traditional Rulers.

The traditional rulers commended the Governor for projects executed in the area, describing them as verifiable and impactful.

They also declared their support for his 2027 re-election bid, assuring him that they would work towards doubling the votes he received from the local government in the last election.

The monarchs, while offering their royal blessings, appealed to the Governor to extend more development projects to the area.

In his welcome address, the Director-General of the Campaign Council, Rt. Hon. Agwu U. Agwu, said the campaign organisation was determined to take the Governor to every part of the state to interact with residents and acknowledge their support for his administration.

He recalled that Governor Otti had stopped at several locations to engage with different groups before arriving at the rally venue, describing the reception as a reflection of the people’s appreciation of his administration.

Also speaking, the member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Amobi Ogah, Labour Party senatorial candidate for Abia North, Chief David Ogba Onuoha (Bourdex); member representing Umunneochi State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, Hon. Mathias Ume Nwachi and the Mayor of Umunneochi LGA, Mr Sunny Afurobi, commended the Governor’s performance in the areas of infrastructure, healthcare and security.

They urged him to remain focused despite opposition criticism and pledged their continued support for the Labour Party and its candidates in the 2027 general elections.

The political leaders also said that the Otti led administration has executed projects in the area which previous governments could not accomplish in 24 years.
